This 19 page paper proposes a strategy for a new search engine to be launched in China. The paper starts by examining the situation in China, looking at the market and the users, as well as the challenges faced by Google. Using this analysis the potential key characteristics which would enhance the potential success of a new search engine in the country are identified and discussed.
